serial number 42-7890. 334th FS, 4th FG, 8th Air Force. Flown by Lt.
Duane Beeson. Based at Debden, England, January, 1944. Finished in Olive
Drab and Neutral Gray. Note early style cowl flaps and Curtiss Electric
narrow blade
“Sleepy Jean III” P-47D-28-RA, Serial number 42-28641. 395th FS,
368th FG, 9th Air Force. Flown by Lt. Bill Wayland Based at St. Dizier,
France. Spring of 1945. Wayland is credited with 4 victories; 2 Bf-109s
and 2 Fw-190s. Polished but dirty natural metal finish with semi gloss
red trim. Dark olive drab or faded black anti glare panel. Plain wheel
hubs with red centers. Wing and centerline racks fitted. Dirt spattered
lower rear fuselage. Curtiss paddle bladed prop. Note non standard star

“Kansas Tornado II” P-47D-25-RE, serial number 42-26742. 510th FS,
405th FG, 9th Air Force. Flown by Capt. Howard Curran. Based at St.
Dizier, France, Fall, 1944. Natural metal finish with dark blue nose
ring and canopy frames. Note cutback cowl flaps and Curtiss Electric 13’
paddle bladed propeller.
